Why Do We Forget Our Dreams?

We forget our dreams because they're like stories we tell ourselves while we sleep, and sometimes we don’t remember them when we wake up.

Dreams are like little movies playing in your brain while you’re asleep. You might see funny animals, fly through the sky, or talk to a giant cookie. But just like how you forget what you had for breakfast if you're too busy playing with toys, you can forget your dreams when you wake up.

Why We Forget

When we sleep, our brains are working really hard, they’re making memories, like little notes saying “I did this today.” But when we dream, those memories aren’t always written down clearly. It's like trying to remember what a puzzle looked like before you put it together, sometimes you get parts of it, but not all.

Also, when we wake up, our brains are busy switching from sleep mode to awake mode, and that can make it harder to catch the whole dream story before it slips away like water through fingers.

So next time you forget your dream, just smile, it’s like leaving a toy on the floor after playing with it. You might not remember it right away, but it was still fun!
