Why do we feel nostalgia? - Clay Routledge?

Nostalgia is when we feel happy and warm inside because we remember something from the past.

Imagine you have a treasure box that only you can open, it's your memory box. Inside, there are little pieces of your favorite times: maybe playing with your best friend, eating your favorite snack, or even just sitting on your favorite chair at home. When you look into this box and remember those moments, your heart feels like it’s smiling.

Why does the treasure box make us happy?

When we're young, we feel safe and loved, that's when our treasure box starts filling up with all these special memories. Later on, when life gets busy or a little tricky, we open the box again to remember those warm times. It’s like getting a big hug from your past.

So whenever you see something that reminds you of a happy time, maybe your old toy, a familiar song, or even the smell of your favorite dinner, it's like your treasure box is giving you a little reminder: "You're not alone; I'm here with you."
