How the Brain Works
When the Brain Gets Mixed Up
Think about when you're walking into a room and suddenly feel like you've been there before, but you haven’t! It’s almost like your brain had a little memory mix-up. One part of your brain saw something familiar, but another part didn't quite catch on right away. That mix-up makes it feel like you’ve already been somewhere or done something.
It's not magic, just your brain doing its best to keep up with everything around you! We feel like we've been somewhere before even though we haven't, it’s called déjà vu.
Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy blocks. You stack them up in a certain way, and suddenly you think you’ve seen that tower before. That’s kind of what happens during déjà vu.
How the Brain Works
Your brain is like a super-fast computer. It takes in information from around you, sounds, sights, smells, and tries to make sense of it all. Sometimes, your brain gets a little confused and thinks something new is actually something familiar because parts of it are matching up just a little bit.
