Why Do We Celebrate Labor Day?

We celebrate Labor Day to say thank you to the people who work hard every day.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, it's fun and makes you happy. Now imagine that toy was made by someone else, far away, who worked really hard for a long time to make it just right. That person is like a worker. Labor Day is like a big party we throw for all those workers.

Why We Have the Party

Every year, on the first Monday in September, people get together to celebrate. They might have parades, or they might just enjoy the day off. It's a way to show that we appreciate the work workers do, like building houses, cooking food, or even cleaning streets.

What Workers Do

Workers are like superheroes with tools instead of capes. Some build things, some fix them, and some make sure everything runs smoothly so you can play, go to school, or enjoy your favorite snack. Without their hard work, life would be a little messier, just like if you forgot to clean up after playing with your toys.

So on Labor Day, we take a moment to say: Thank you for working hard!
