We blink to keep our eyes wet and happy. When we're busy looking at something, like a toy or a cookie, our brain sends a little message to our eye to close it quickly for just a second, that's a blink! It helps the tears on our eyes spread out so we can see clearly again.
Examples
- You’re eating ice cream and your eyes close for a second, that’s a blink!
- You’re playing with a toy, and suddenly both eyes shut quickly, that's another blink!
- Your friend is telling you a funny story, but you don't notice your eyes blinking a lot, that's how automatic it is!
