Why Do We Believe in ‘Myths’ or ‘Legends’?

People believe in myths and legends because they help us understand the world. Like a story about a hero who saves everyone, these tales explain things we don’t know yet, or maybe even give us hope.

Stories make big ideas easier to remember. When a god helps people during a storm, it feels more real than just saying ‘the weather was bad.’

Myths help explain strange things. Maybe a dragon appeared in the forest, and now we think there really is one. It’s like believing in something magical because it makes sense to us.
