The Weak Spot
The place where the plug meets the cord is the most dangerous spot. It bends every time you move. Manufacturers use a sticky glue called epoxy to hold it together, but that glue can crack if you drop your laptop or sit on the cable.
Why Is It So Hard?
Modern cables have many more wires inside than old ones because they carry more data and charge faster. More wires mean less space for protection. Also, the metal part of the plug is strong, so we forget that it can break the soft wire inside instead of breaking itself.
