Some stars are so hot that they shine blue. Just like a fire burns orange when it's warm, but turns white or blue when it's super hot, these stars are the hottest in the sky. They're called blue giants because of their bright blue light.
Examples
- A blue flame on a gas stove is hotter than an orange one.
- The sky looks blue because Earth's atmosphere scatters shorter wavelengths of light more easily.
- A blue LED lightbulb emits a much brighter, more intense light than a red one.
