Blue eyes come from a special kind of gene. Imagine you're playing with building blocks, most people have a lot of colored blocks, which makes their eyes look brown or green. But if someone has the blue eye gene, it's like they only used blue blocks, and that's why their eyes are blue.
Examples
- A baby with two blue-eyed parents gets blue eyes because they inherited the blue eye gene from both.
- Someone with one brown-eyed parent and one blue-eyed parent may have brown or green eyes depending on which genes are passed down.
- If a child has two dominant genes, they will likely have brown eyes even if one of their parents has blue eyes.
