Hair is like a rope. Straight hair is like a tight, straight rope, and curly hair is like a rope that’s been twisted. The reason some people have curly hair and others don’t is because of something called genes, the instructions your body uses to grow things like hair. If you get the curly gene from one or both parents, your hair will be curly. If not, it’ll be straight, like a tight rope.
Examples

- Hair is like yarn, if it's twisted, it makes curls.
