How the Body Fights Germs
When germs enter your body through your nose or mouth, they try to make you feel bad by causing a cold or flu. Your immune system, which is like a team of soldiers, works hard to fight them off. If this team is strong and healthy, it can win quickly, but if it's tired or not well, the germs might stay longer and cause more sickness.
Examples
- A child who skips breakfast might catch a cold faster than one who eats a healthy meal.
- Someone who eats junk food every day might get sick more often than someone who eats vegetables and fruit.
