Blushing happens when we feel shy or nervous. Our body sends a message to our face, telling the blood vessels there to open up. More blood goes to the skin on our cheeks and forehead, making them turn red, like a little red flag that says 'I’m embarrassed!' It’s like your face is giving you away when you’re trying to stay calm.
