Why Do Some People Believe in Multiple Gods at Once?

Some people believe in multiple gods at once because they think each god has a special job to do.

Imagine you have a big toy box, and inside it are different kinds of toys: cars, blocks, dolls, and puzzles. Each toy is good for playing with in its own way. Now imagine that instead of toys, there are gods, like one god who helps with rain, another who makes the sun shine, another who helps people grow up strong, and so on.

Just like you might need all those different toys to have fun, some people think they need all those different gods to help everything in the world work properly. Each god does their own part of the job, kind of like how your mom might cook dinner while your dad helps with homework.

Sometimes, people believe in multiple gods because they’ve heard stories about them from family or friends, and those stories have been passed down for a long time, just like how you learn new games from other kids at school.
