How People Make Rules
Imagine you're playing a game with your friends in the park. Some of you decide to run on the left side of the path, others on the right. At first, it’s confusing, everyone bumps into each other! But after a while, you all agree: “We’ll stick to one side so we don’t crash!” That’s like what happened in some countries long ago.
In Europe, most people decided to drive on the right side of the road. In Britain, they chose the left, just like how you might choose your favorite hand for drawing or eating!
Why Rules Change
Sometimes, when people move from one country to another, they bring their rules with them. Like if a family from France moves to Britain, they might still drive on the right at first, but eventually, they’ll learn to switch sides so they don’t bump into other cars.
It’s like how you might walk on the left side of the sidewalk at home, but when you visit another city, you follow their rule. That’s why some countries have different driving sides, it all started with simple choices made by people long ago!
Examples
- 'In some countries like the UK, you drive on the left because of old horse-drawn carriages.'
- A parent explains, 'It's all about history and how people used to travel.'
