Some countries have two names because people in different places call them by different names. For example, the United States is also called America. People in Europe might say ‘the Netherlands,’ but people from there might just say ‘Holland.’ It’s like if your friend was known as ‘Tom’ to some people and ‘Thomas’ to others, it doesn’t change who they are.
