Why Do Some Countries Have More Wealth Than Others?

Imagine two cookie jars, one has a lot of cookies, the other barely has any. Some countries are like that big cookie jar with lots of cookies (wealth), while others have only a few (poverty). This happens because some countries get more cookies from their work and trade, but also give away many of their cookies to others. That's why one jar is full and another is almost empty.
