Why Do Philosophers Debate Existence?

Imagine you are playing a game of hide and seek. You close your eyes and count to ten. When you open them, the world looks exactly as it did before. But if you close your eyes again, is the world still there? Philosophers ask this big question: Does the world exist when no one is looking?

Think of a mirror. If you stand in front of it, you see yourself. If you leave the room, the mirror is empty. But the mirror is still there, right? Philosophers wonder if reality is like that mirror. Some say the world only exists when we see it. Others say the world exists all by itself, whether we look at it or not.
