Imagine you're sitting in a room with your best friend, and you look at the table in front of you. You both say, 'That’s a table.' But then you argue for an hour about what makes it a table, is it just its shape? What if we change one leg? Does it still count as a table? Philosophers sometimes do this with everyday things, and they call it philosophical debate.
Examples
- A philosopher spends a week debating whether the sun actually exists or if it's just something we believe in.
- Two philosophers try to prove that the sky is not blue by using only the number 7.
