Why Do People Vote for Leaders They Know Are Corrupt?

Sometimes people vote for leaders who are honest, but sometimes they vote for ones who aren't. Imagine if your teacher gave you bad grades on purpose just to get a promotion, wouldn’t that make you mad? But maybe the other teachers were even worse! So even though your teacher wasn’t fair, you might still pick them over the others because they weren’t as bad.

That’s kind of what happens in politics. People know some leaders are corrupt, but they might vote for them anyway if they think the other candidates are even more corrupt or don't stand a chance.
