Sometimes people say things that are not true to make life easier. Like when you tell a friend you finished your homework even though you didn't, it's called lying. People lie because they want to feel good, avoid trouble, or make others happy. It's like playing hide and seek: sometimes you lie just so you can win the game.
Examples
- You tell your mom you ate all your vegetables even though you threw them away.
- Your friend says they passed the test when they really failed.
- You promise your teacher you’ll finish your project on time, but you’re still working on it.
