Why do people from different cultures celebrate similar holidays?

People celebrate similar holidays because we all share the same basic human needs and the same sun. Even though we live in different places, we all watch the seasons change, just like watching the sky turn from green to orange in autumn.

Imagine the sun is a giant clock in the sky. When the days get shorter and colder, people everywhere feel the same way. We all need warmth, food, and time to rest. This is why many cultures have winter festivals. In some places, people light candles or fires to fight the dark. In others, they eat big meals with family. It is like how every child knows that when it gets cold, you want to snuggle under a blanket and eat something warm, like hot cocoa or soup.
