You feel hungry in the afternoon because your body is telling you it needs more energy. When you eat breakfast, your body uses up some of that energy to keep you going all day. Around midday, especially if you didn’t have a big lunch or snack, your energy levels go down, and that’s when your brain says, 'Hey, I need food!' It's like your tummy is saying, 'I’m ready for another round!'
Why it happens
Your body has something called blood sugar. When you eat, your blood sugar goes up. But as time passes, especially if you’re not eating much, that blood sugar starts to drop, and that’s when hunger hits.
