Why Do People Blink So Frequently?

Blinking is automatic because your brain wants to make sure your eyes are always comfortable. When your eyes get dry from looking at something for too long, like a screen or a book, your brain tells you to blink so they can stay wet and happy.

You blink about 15 to 20 times every minute, so that’s around 2,400 blinks in an hour! If you blink that many times every day, it's no wonder your eyes feel refreshed.
