Mirrors make us look backward because they flip the image left to right. Imagine you're facing a friend, and instead of looking at each other directly, you're both looking at a wall, your reflection would be like seeing yourself through a window in reverse. It’s as if someone took a photo of you from the side and then showed it to you face-on.
Examples
- If you smile at a mirror, your reflection smiles back, but with the left side of your mouth on the right and vice versa.
- Your reflection makes it look like you're wearing your shirt backward when you're actually just facing forward.
- When you wave to your mirror image, it looks like it's waving in a strange way.
