When people get nervous, their body goes into a special mode called fight or flight. This helps them run away from danger or face it head-on. One part of this mode makes their sweat glands work harder, especially on the palms and soles. That’s why your hands might feel wet when you're excited or scared.
Examples
- You feel your palms getting wet before giving a speech.
- Your feet start to sweat during a big test.
- You notice your hands are damp when you're about to meet someone new.
