Why Do Governments Sometimes Start Wars?

Sometimes, a government decides to start a war like a kid decides to start a fight at recess, maybe they feel strong or want to look tough. If another country doesn’t listen and keeps making things hard, the government might say, ‘We’re going to show them who’s boss!’ It can also be about gaining more land or money, just like when you take from your sibling in a game.
