Different cultures have different social customs and norms because they grow up around different things, just like how kids who live near a park play differently than kids who live in a busy city.
Like a Family with Different Recipes
Imagine your family has a special recipe for cookies. Your grandma makes them with chocolate chips, but your aunt uses raisins instead. Both are good, but they’re different because they were taught differently. In the same way, cultures have their own special recipes, things like how people greet each other or what they wear, and those come from where they live and who they're around.
The Neighborhood Matters
If you grow up in a place with lots of rain, maybe your culture has different rules about sharing or being kind. It’s like if you live near a big lake, you might know how to swim before most kids do! So the people, the place, and the things around them all help shape what feels right in that culture.
And just like how you can learn new ways to play when you make friends from another neighborhood, people can also change their customs when they meet others, it’s a fun mix of old and new!
