Bees do a special dance called the waggle dance to tell other bees where the best food is. When they find a flower with lots of nectar, they go back to the hive and do a little twirl, it’s like saying, ‘Hey, there’s great food over there!’ Other bees watch the dance and follow them to the food.
Examples
- When the hive is empty, bees dance more often to find new food.
- A busy bee might do many quick waggles if there are multiple good flower patches nearby.
