Why Do Bats Echo Locate?

Imagine you're playing a game of hide and seek in a dark room. You can't see your friends, but you can shout out 'Hello!' and listen for the echo to find them. Bats do something similar, they make a sound, and when it bounces off an object, like a tree or wall, they hear the echo and know where it is. This helps them fly around without crashing into things.
