Why Do All The Planets Orbit In The Same Plane?

All the planets orbit the Sun in the same plane because they formed from a spinning disk of material, just like how things settle into a flat layer when you stir a bowl of soup.

Imagine you're making a smoothie. You put everything in the blender, bananas, strawberries, milk, and then you turn it on. Everything starts spinning around really fast, right? But once you stop blending, things slow down and settle into a flat layer at the bottom of the cup.

Planets are like the ingredients in that smoothie. A long time ago, the early Solar System was like a big, messy blender, full of rocks, ice, gas, and dust. Everything was spinning around the young Sun. Over time, things settled into a flat disk because that's how motion works when you spin stuff around.

That flat disk is called the ecliptic plane, and it’s why all the planets are lined up like they're dancing in the same circle, everyone follows the same path, just like how everything settles into a flat layer after blending.
