Why didn't the USA ever adopt the Metric System? (Short Animated Documentary)?

The USA didn’t switch to metric system because it was already using inches, feet, and miles, like a favorite toy that doesn’t need changing.

Imagine you have a big box of Legos. You know exactly how they fit together because you've used them for years. The USA felt the same way about its custom units, like inches and pounds, they were familiar, and everything worked just fine.

When people in other countries started using meters and kilograms, it was like they switched to a different kind of Lego. But the USA didn’t see any need to change something that already worked well for them.

Plus, switching would have taken time and money, like having to learn new rules for a game you already know how to play. So, instead of changing, the USA kept using its custom units, just like it always did.

There was even a chance they might switch later on, but by then, people were used to inches and miles, so they stayed with them.

It’s kind of like having your favorite pair of shoes, why change when you're already comfortable?
