Why Did Humans Invent Cities?

Humans invented cities because they wanted to live together in one place and share things like food, tools, and stories.

Imagine you have a big box of toys, but you only get to play with a few at a time. That’s what life was like for early humans, they moved around a lot, hunting and gathering food from different places. But when they started growing crops and raising animals, they didn’t need to move as much.

When more people came together in one place, they needed better ways to live. They built homes next to each other, like how your toys are all grouped together in a toy box. This made it easier for everyone to help each other and share food when there wasn’t enough.

Also, cities helped with work. Some people could focus on making tools or clothing while others farmed or traded with neighbors, kind of like how you might have friends who draw really well, and friends who are super fast at building Legos.

So, cities were like a big, happy neighborhood where everyone worked together to make life easier and more fun!
