Why China's population is shrinking?

China has too many people growing old and not enough new babies being born.

Imagine you have a huge family with 100 cousins. Every year, some of them grow up and go to college or work, but only a few little kids are born. Soon, there will be more older cousins than younger ones. That’s what is happening in China, many people are getting old, and fewer babies are being born.

A long time ago, most families had many children because they needed help with farming or chores. But now, kids go to school for a long time, and parents want to work more, so they have fewer kids. It's like choosing between buying one toy that lasts forever or buying five small toys that break easily.

Also, some young people in China are going to other countries to find better jobs, just like you might leave your neighborhood to go live with a friend who has a bigger bike. This means even fewer new people are growing up in China.

So, China’s population is shrinking because it has more old people and not enough young ones coming to take their place.
