We can't see the stars anymore because something is blocking our view of them, just like a curtain blocks your view of a toy on the other side of the room.
Stars are far away, but they're still shining bright, we just need a clear path to look at them. During the day, the Sun is so bright that it makes everything else look dim and blurry, like trying to see a small light bulb in a very bright room. That’s why we can’t see stars when it's sunny outside.
What Happens When It Gets Dark
When it gets dark at night, the Sun goes behind the Earth, and the sky becomes dark, letting us see the stars again. It's like turning off the lights in that bright room, suddenly, you can see all the little toys and lights on the other side of the curtain.
Sometimes, clouds or smoke can block our view too, just like a foggy curtain. But if we wait for the sky to be clear, we can enjoy looking at the stars once more!
Examples
