You feel sore after working out because your muscles are telling you, "Hey, I just did something new!"
Imagine your muscles are like little rubber bands inside your body. When you work out, you stretch and pull them in ways they're not used to, like when you try to tie a really tight shoelace for the first time. Your muscles get tired and even a little damaged, which makes them feel sore.
What's Happening Inside
Your muscles are made of tiny strings called fibers. When you work out, these fibers get stretched or even a little torn, just like when your favorite sock gets pulled too tight and rips a little. Your body then works hard to fix those tears, making the muscles stronger over time.
But while they're fixing things, they also send messages to your brain, saying, "Ow! I need some rest!" That’s why you feel sore, it's like your muscles are giving you a "tired hug" after doing something hard.
