Some people are left-handed because their brain is more active on the right side. When you use your right hand, your left brain is working hard, but if your right brain is stronger, your left hand might be better at doing things. It's like having two different teams in your head, and sometimes the team on the other side wins!
Examples
- A baby may use both hands at first, but as they grow, one hand becomes stronger, sometimes the left hand takes over.
- A child might learn to write with their right hand because their teacher says so, but some kids just prefer using their left hand.
- If you're used to writing with your left hand and then try to use your right hand, it can feel awkward or slow.
