Why are microchips currently in such high demand globally?

Microchips are tiny brains that help computers and gadgets do cool things, and right now, everyone wants a lot of them.

Imagine you're making cookies, and you need lots of sprinkles to put on top. Each sprinkle is like a microchip, it helps make the cookie (or gadget) extra special. But if there aren't enough sprinkles, you can't make as many cookies as you'd like. That’s what's happening with microchips today.

Microchips are everywhere

Microchips are inside toasters, smartphones, cars, and even robots! They help these things do their jobs, like cooking your bread, letting you talk to friends, or helping a car know when to stop. So if we need more gadgets, we also need more microchips.

There's not enough sprinkles (or microchips)

Right now, people want even more gadgets than before. But the factories that make microchips can’t keep up, it’s like trying to sprinkle a whole bakery with just a few sprinkles. That makes microchips super popular and hard to find, which is why they're in such high demand all around the world!
