Why are many employees disengaged, and are managers aware?

Many employees feel disengaged because they don’t always enjoy their work or feel heard by their managers, and sometimes managers aren’t even aware of how their team is feeling.

Like a Playground Game

Imagine you're playing tag at the playground. You're having so much fun, running around, laughing with your friends. But then, the person who’s it doesn’t notice you’re tired or bored, they just keep chasing you and don’t ask if you want to stop or switch places. That's kind of how it feels for some employees.

The Manager’s Job

Managers are like the leaders of a team, sometimes, they're really good at knowing what their players need. But sometimes, they’re so busy with their own tasks that they don’t take time to check in with everyone else. It's like being on a soccer team and your coach is too busy talking to the referee to notice you're struggling with a new move.

If managers took time to listen or ask how people are doing, it might make the whole team feel more connected and happy, just like how you'd feel if your friend who's it stopped to ask if you wanted to switch!
