Why are global supply chains still facing disruption and high costs?

Global supply chains are still having trouble because they're like a big line of kids passing toys from one end to the other, and sometimes the kids get distracted or trip over each other.

Supply chains are like roads that goods take to go from where they’re made to where they’re sold. But right now, those roads are crowded and bumpy.

Like a Traffic Jam on a Toy Train

Imagine you're playing with a toy train that goes through tunnels and loops. If too many trains try to go through at the same time, they all get stuck, just like supplies getting stuck in ports or trucks waiting for hours at borders. This makes everything take longer and cost more money.

The Big Playdate Went Wrong

Also, some of the places where toys are made had a big playdate that turned into a mess, like a factory closing down suddenly or workers not being able to come in. That means fewer toys can be made, so it takes longer for them to reach you, and they cost more.

So when roads are crowded, kids get distracted, and some places aren’t making as many toys, the toy train gets delayed, that’s why supplies are still having trouble.
