Why are global supply chains facing current disruptions?

Global supply chains are like a big game of pass-the-ball, but everyone is playing at the same time and nobody knows the rules.

Imagine you and your friends are passing a ball around during recess. But suddenly, someone trips, another friend gets distracted by a butterfly, and the ball drops on the ground, it takes forever to get back in play! That’s what's happening with global supply chains now.

Like a Long Line of People Passing Things

Think about your school lunch line: you take a sandwich from one person, then pass it to the next, and so on until it reaches the end. Now imagine that line is stretched across the world, and every person in the line has their own problems, some might be stuck in traffic, others are out of sandwiches, and someone forgot their lunch altogether!

That’s what’s happening with global supply chains right now: things like toys, food, and clothes can't get from one place to another as quickly because there are too many people (or countries) trying to pass them at the same time, and some parts of the line are stuck.

It's like your lunch line suddenly had 10 more kids join in, it just takes longer for everyone to get their food!
