Why are global interest rates remaining stubbornly high?

Global interest rates are staying high because money is in a big, busy playground, and no one wants to leave just yet.

Imagine you're playing on a swing set with your friends. Everyone loves the swings, so even though the park has other fun things like slides or a sandbox, everyone stays on the swings. That’s kind of what's happening with money, it's all focusing on big, strong investments, like companies and countries borrowing money to build new things.

Why won't the playground empty out?

Big players in the money world, like banks and governments, are still using a lot of the money. It’s like if your swing set had a slide that was super fun, so even though other swings were free, you stayed on yours because it felt extra special.

Also, money doesn’t want to leave quickly. When people see good results from their investments, they don't rush out, it's like when you’re playing a game and winning, you'd rather keep going than stop right then.

So the playground (the money world) stays full, and that means interest rates stay high, just like how swings feel extra fun when everyone is on them.
