Almost nobody lives in the Baltic Countries because they are like small islands surrounded by a big ocean, but instead of water, it's a huge, busy country called Russia.
Imagine you have a toy box with three little blocks inside. Those blocks are Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. They're all very close to each other, and they're also right next to this giant block, Russia. That big block has lots of toys and friends, so it's super busy.
People like to live where there are more things to do, more people around, and maybe even more toys. The Baltic Countries don’t have as many toys or friends nearby, so fewer people want to move there. It’s kind of like choosing between a quiet park and a funfair, most kids pick the funfair!
Also, sometimes when you're close to someone who's very busy, they can take over your toys. That happened a long time ago, and it made life in the Baltic Countries feel a little less exciting for some people.
But that doesn’t mean no one lives there, just not as many as in bigger, busier places!
