Who is Vatican City?

Vatican City is like a tiny, special neighborhood inside one of the biggest cities in the world, Rome.

Imagine you have a really big toy box full of all your favorite toys, and hidden at the bottom is a small treasure chest. That's kind of what Vatican City is: a very small place that holds something really important, the Pope, who is like the leader of a huge group of people called Catholics.

Vatican City is so small, it could fit inside one of your school playgrounds! But even though it's tiny, it has everything needed for its special job: buildings where the Pope works and lives, beautiful churches, and a library with lots of old books. It’s like having a palace in your backpack, not very big, but full of value.

The Pope is like the boss of all the Catholics around the world. He helps people feel connected to their faith, just like how your teacher connects you to learning. Even though he lives in a tiny place, his voice can be heard from many countries, and that’s pretty amazing!
