Who is United States of America?

The United States of America is like a big team of friends who work together to make one strong country.

Imagine you and your friends each have your own little house in a neighborhood. Each house has its own rules, but all the houses are part of the same neighborhood. That’s kind of what the United States of America is, it's made up of many states, like your friends’ houses, and together they make one big country.

Each state can have its own laws, just like how you and your friends might have different rules for your playtime. But when it comes to bigger things, like a national holiday or choosing someone new to lead the team, all the states work together.

There’s also a government, think of it as a group of leaders who help make decisions for everyone in the neighborhood. They live in a special house called Washington, D. C., which is like the main office of the whole team.
