Who is Tim Berners-Lee?

Tim Berners-Lee is the person who created the World Wide Web, which lets us explore and share information online like going on a fun adventure.

Imagine you have a big toy box full of different toys, cars, blocks, dolls. Each toy has its own special place in your room. Now imagine if there was a way to find all those toys from anywhere in the house, even from another room or another floor! That’s kind of what Tim did for information.

He made something called HTML, which stands for HyperText Markup Language. It's like a set of instructions that tell your computer how to show you pictures, words, and links. When you click on a link, it’s like following a path from one toy to another, or from one website to another.

How He Made the Web Work

Tim also created HTTP, which stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol. Think of it like a messenger that helps your computer talk to other computers around the world. When you visit a website, HTTP is helping behind the scenes so you can see all the pretty pictures and fun games.

Because of Tim’s work, we can now explore the web, just like exploring a big, exciting toy box!
