Who is Robert Wadlow?

Robert Wadlow was the tallest person ever recorded.

Imagine stacking 10 regular-sized kids on top of each other, that's how tall Robert Wadlow was! He was like a giant tree standing next to tiny mushrooms. His height was about 272 centimeters, which is almost as long as a school bus.

Robert had a special condition called gigantism, which means his body grew really fast because of too much growth hormone. It's like when you eat a lot of candy and grow extra inches in just one day, but for Robert, this happened all the time. He wore giant clothes and needed custom-made shoes that were bigger than most people’s whole feet!

Walking was like walking on stilts for Robert. His feet were so big they could fit two regular-sized feet inside each one! People used to laugh and cheer when he walked by, because he was like a living giant, but also very friendly.
