Richard the Lionheart was a very brave king who ruled a big country called England.
A King Known for Being Brave
Richard the Lionheart got his name because he was super strong and didn’t back down from fights, like when you’re playing tag and you don’t run away, even if someone is chasing you!
He was a king, which means he was in charge of England. Think of him like the boss of a huge playground, he made rules, fought battles, and made sure people listened to him.
A Fighter Who Loved Battles
Richard loved fighting so much that he went on long trips to fight other kings. One of his favorite places to fight was in France, where he had a big battle with another king named Philip. It was like when you and your friend both want to be the leader of the playground, you have to prove who’s stronger by playing a game.
Even though Richard was brave, he wasn’t always around. He spent a lot of time fighting in other countries, which meant his brother had to take care of England sometimes, kind of like when you go on vacation and your sibling has to watch over your toys!
