Relational FOMO is when you worry that your friends are having more fun than you are, and it makes you want to join in too.
Imagine you're playing with blocks at the park, and all your friends run off to play hide-and-seek. You feel a little sad because you’re left behind, but then you think, “Maybe they’ll miss me!” So you run after them, just like you do when you see your favorite toy being taken by someone else.
Relational FOMO is that feeling of wanting to be part of the group or the fun because you're afraid of missing out. It's not about being left out forever, but more like a little worry that makes you want to join in right away, just like when you see your friends laughing and you can't help but smile too.
Why it happens
Sometimes, you might feel Relational FOMO because you know your friends are having fun, and you don’t want to be the one who’s not part of the action. It's kind of like being the last person to get on a slide, you see everyone else laughing as they go down, so you run to join them too!
