Who is NASA Twins Study?

NASA Twins Study is when scientists watched how space affects our bodies by comparing two brothers who are almost exactly the same.

Like Having Two Copies of a Toy

Imagine you have two identical toy cars, they look the same, do the same things. Now, one car goes on a long, bumpy ride in a special track (like going to space), and the other stays on your table. When they come back, scientists check them both to see how the bumpy ride changed the first car compared to the second.

The Real-Life Twins

NASA did something similar with two real brothers, Scott Kelly and Mark Kelly. Scott went to space for a whole year, while Mark stayed on Earth. Scientists watched how space changed Scott’s body, like his muscles, bones, eyes, even his genes, compared to Mark's.

It was like watching two identical toy cars after one had a super long trip, and the other hadn’t moved at all!
