Who is Narrative Function?

Narrative Function is like having different jobs for characters in a story, each one helps make the tale more interesting.

Imagine you're playing with your toys and telling a story about them. One toy might be the leader who makes decisions, another could be the funny friend who tells jokes, and yet another might be the problem solver who fixes things when they go wrong. Each of these roles is a narrative function, it helps the story move forward in its own special way.

Think of your favorite cartoon or movie. If every character did everything, like being the leader, the funny friend, and the problem solver all at once, it would get confusing! But when each character has their own job, it's easier to follow what's happening and why things change.

So, just like in a story, real life also has people with different narrative functions. A teacher might be like the leader, guiding students through lessons, while a classmate could be the funny friend who keeps everyone laughing during tests.
